It’s rare that I answer messages on Xing.com, and even rarer to install apps in order to answer. While I do think your message is a bit generic, it prompted me to do just that:

In my opinion you’re completely right in saying the best connection are had with people you know on a deeper level. But from my experience with personal growth in my life, it’s always been hard to get to that level with people.

So I decided to become as transparent and authentic as I can be.

Now to your question of who I am, here are the lasted bullet points of my life: 7 years ago I went to Los Angeles to become an actor. Sadly I only had a visa for 3 month. Going back to Austria I became depressed, all I wanted was to go back.

Getting a green card became my number one goal, but I didn’t just want to get married, I needed to earn it. As a high school dropout the only option I saw was for a corporation to transfer me to a US office.

Through lucky circumstances I found a job with Salesforce and had an amazing manager who helped me along the way. I moved to Ireland to work for Salesforce and about a year into the job my manager introduced me to someone who wanted to hire me for a recent acquisition in the US.

Long story short I got the job, got the visa and had to jump through a lot of hoops but finally got my green card last month.

Over the past few years I had the opportunity to learn a lot about myself and start on a journey of personal growth. This propelled me to hike the PCT an over 4000 kilometers long trail from Canada to Mexico later this year.

In the hopes of someday being able to inspire others I’m continuing on my Walk of Growth.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you, and feel free to share your story!

Servus,

Thomas
