What makes this even worse were the transition moments — those fleeting seconds when I thought I could break out of it. They passed by so quickly. Just as I realized my brain is giving me a break, I start thinking of my overflowing email inbox all over again.
I didn’t know that I was in charge of my brain at that time. That I could be telling my mind what to think and where to focus. Like you right now, I haven’t learned the skill of taking the reins. It’s been almost five years since I embarked on the journey of managing my mind. And on this journey, I have found a simple way of taking control.

You’re at the point of decision. You can either continue down the path of least resistance, the way you have already been traveling, or you can choose the road less traveled. The path of least resistance will probably result in you getting the same outcomes you’ve always received. But if you want something different to happen, if you desire to change the trajectory of your career, you’re going to have to do something different. Make a new choice and pursue your new outcome.
